Kids in the Pool!!!!

March 9, 2009

>So most of you guys probably don’t know what the title phrase means (this is assuming most of you reading this are girls). So you can either ask your husband, boyfriend, etc… or continue reading.

Last night Sherry and I were giving Chloe her bath before bed. She was having a great time playing with her toys and splashing around. Sherry brought some laundry into the bathroom, and she and I were taking turns playing with Chloe and folding laundry. In the midst of one of our duty crossovers (i mean like a split second, sick AI crossover), Sherry noticed there were some UFOs (unidentified floating objects) in the tub with Chloe (and no they weren’t bath toys)…..

As she gasped and grabbed Chloe, I turned and sprung into action. I mean what’s a Dad to do!?! The Kids were getting really close to Nemo, Fish-Cow and the Tugboat of miss-fit bath friends, so I snatched a towel from the laundry room, rescued the bath friends from their imminent danger, dove my toweled hand into the tub after the Kids, and ordered a Code Red on the pink breast cancer awareness bath duck for not giving us a heads up!?! She had to have known something was going down. She made b-line to the far corner of the tub and just stayed there!

Now look, I’m sure this is one of those things that happens all of the time with little kids, but man is it crazy the first time it happens with your kid. So guys this is your warning. If this hasn’t happened yet set your bath security alert to a level Orange, have a towel handy and ready to Rock’n Roll (this towel has to be easy to handle, not to absorbent, not to think but definitely not to thin, no hand towels because you don’t want to run out of real estate and not bath towels because you will lose speed, and lastly make sure you aren’t attached to it because this thing is on a mission like Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant – One and Done).

Also very important, make sure you and your wife are both ready to use the applicable terminology to let everyone in the house know the situation – Kids in the Pool!!! Its not just a a phrase its a call to action.

    >Okay, that is hilarious! Trey, you are one heck of a story teller! It’s happened once with each kid for us and I gagged both times. And then bleached the tub. Gross.
