Spring Break ’09

March 18, 2009

>YAY for being a teacher. I am so happy I am off all week! I spent the last few days with my mom. She came up Monday and we spent the week shopping and hanging out! Chloe has decided that Cookie’s name is not Cookie, but Ka-ka. Too funny! We laughed all weekend over Chloe’s newest word. Furniture hunting (for a cocktail ottoman to replace our hard coffee table), lunch with Trey, and watching cooking shows were some of our favorite tasks. The weather has been so great! Last night we enjoyed dinner on the back porch, which was decorated with a fun strand of outdoor lights I bought at Target. We cooked a new Rachel Ray that was super-tasty- beef lettillas- like tacos but with lettuce instead of tortillas. Yum-O.

Last night Trey and I were so excited to sneak out to see a movie since my mom was here for free babysitting! It was Trey’s turn to pick, and now he owes me like the next 100 picks. Whatever you do, don’t go see Watchmen. It is the worst movie ever. Seriously. The worst. Trey and I really can’t think of another movie that was more horrible. I should have read up on it first, but I was thinking comic book, Spiderman, save-the-day type of movie. I had NO idea it was going to be so bad. Despite the fact there was enough nudity and bad language to be rated something worse than R, but it also had the dumbest story line of all times. I couldn’t even begin to get into the plot. So, I ended up sleeping for an hour of it and then caught up on Google reader and playing Blocked on my iPhone for the rest of it. It was that bad. So sad to waste a precious date night on such a terrible movie!

After saying goodbye to mom this morning, I finally gave in and joined Facebook. My sister (among others) has been giving me the hardest time about not being “in”, so now I guess I am officially cool because I have a Facebook. So, be my friend please.

That’s all for now. Chloe is about to wake up from her morning nap ready to eat lunch! I think we’ll go to the new city park this afternoon and enjoy the nice weather. Yay for Spring Break!

    >They let you play on your phone in the movie theater? They’ll kick you out here. Even if it’s on quiet, it the light pops on, they will escort you out. Isn’t that crazy? Of course, I keep mine on, though because usually my kids are elsewhere and what happens if it’s an emergency?!?!

    >So now that you are on Facebook, you have a dilemma…to update Facebook or to update Blogspot…
