20 Months

November 1, 2009

This is by far my favorite age! Really, I have loved every part of motherhood but age this is just so much fun. Chloe is talking all the time and we laugh with her constantly.

Chloe, at 20 months:
  • You can count to 13 (that’s today- you are adding new numbers all the time)
  • You use the potty (you get an M&M when you do this, but I probably won’t really start “training” you until Christmas break)
  • You say three and four word sentences. Your favorite is “Hold me, Mommy.” and “I want this.” as you point to something you want.
  • You LOVE to read books. You know many words to many of our books! Your favorites at our house are Pinkalicious and Purplicious, Goodnight Moon, and the Dora book your daddy bought you at Target.
  • You are in LOVE with Dora. You still love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but your preference now is watching Dora. Your favorite character is Swiper, and you always say “Swiper, no swiping” when he comes out.
  • You have many favorite foods. Donuts are your favorite at the moment. In fact, today you woke up and said “I want donuts!”. It just so happened that I was craving them too, so we went to the Donut shop together. It is so fun seeing how excited you get when we pull up! Your other favorites include grilled cheese, peanut butter, and fruit. You don’t like veggies but mommy’s hoping someday you will!
  • You know where so many things are. When we pass my school you say “Mommy’s school” and “Hold me, Mommy!”. When we go to daddy’s work you point to his building and tell me where we are. You also recognize our house, Hagen and Bryce’s house, Noni’s house, Chick-Fil-A, Wal-Mart, Target, NorthPark and Chiloso.
  • You say funny things! The other day we were saying bye to daddy as he went to work. You pointed to his briefcase and said “Daddy’s purse”, letting him know he needs that to go to work. Too cute!
  • We pray every night and every morning together, and the one person you always include in your prayers is Baby Mia.
  • You are already obsessed with clothes. You like to pick them out yourself and do not like it when we have to remove your Minnie or Dora pajamas in the morning. You like to take out all of the clothes in your drawers and put them in the washing machine. You love your new pink converse. You want your socks on all of the time, too.
  • You love the story of Baby Jesus. You get your picture book Bible out and find his picture and start singing “Away in a Manger.”
  • You love to dance and sing. Your favorite songs are “Best of Both Worlds” by Hannah Montana, “The Wheels on the Bus”, “Sing, Sing Sing” by Chris Tomlin, and of course Away in a Manger. You know almost every word to all of these songs. We probably listen to what you call “both worlds” 50 times a day. I’m not exaggerating. It is on repeat on the iPod in your room and you LOVE to dance to that song.
  • There is so much more you can do! Your daddy and I love you so much and are so proud of how you are growing up to be such a sweet and smart little girl!
