Y’all. He is getting so big! I can’t believe my baby boy is almost a year and a half old. No way. I also can’t believe how long it’s been since I wrote this post about Chloe at this age. I want to seriously stop time, because he is just so. much. fun. Here’s a few things you’re doing at 17 months, sweet Jack!

  • You are walking! You still prefer crawling but you are getting better on your feet every day! You’ll especially take steps if there is a candy corn or M&M waiting for you on the ottoman ;)
  • You say so much! You say mama, dada, boo (Boots), cracker, milk, eee (eat), more, wa-wa (water), Co-e (Chloe), seeet (for sweet, because you’re learning to have sweet hands and not hit your sister)
  • You can make animals sounds for dog, cow, kitty, and your favorite- bird. You say “teet teet” when you see a bird. It is so cute.
  • You’ve started singing. If I start singing “Jesus Loves Me” you’ll rock back and forth and start singing too. It is just the cutest thing.
  • You are so happy! You love to be tickled and your belly laugh is just like your sister’s.
  • You love breakfast. The minute you wake up you are saying “Eeeee” for eat. You usually want a pop-tart and will say “po-ta” over and over until I get it open. And, you want it whole. If I break it up, you get mad!
  • All you need is a ball and you are happy! You are usually chasing a ball around the house when you are awake.
  • You dropped your morning nap, so now you sleep around 2-3 hours in the afternoon and at least 12 at night!
  • You love your pacifier. I am dreading the day we decide to get rid of it because you ask for your pa-pa 24/7. Any advice on when/how to get rid of it are welcome!!

Baby Jack, you are such a good boy and I am so proud to be your mama. God was so good to your dad and I when He gave you to us. We pray for you every day, that you will grow into a man who loves the Lord with all your heart!

We love you, Jackie!

Seriously so cute! For the paci, a friend of mine has a kid like yours who ADORED that thing. When the dentist said it was time to go (2.5 years), they snipped the ends off of all of the pacis and gradually snipped them further and further down until they just weren’t as satisfying. This was after they tried giving them to Santa, dropping them off at the hospital for the newborns…all the standard stuff. Good luck! =)

Thanks for the advice Liz! I think we’ll be doing something soon, so I’ll let you know how it goes ;)

I love comments!
