A day with my girl.

March 1, 2012

Chloe’s birthday was such a great day. We started off with the tradition of candles on homemade waffles…

Then we dropped off Jack at school and went to Starbucks for some hot chocolate and coffee!

Our next stop was Barnes and Noble where we spent an hour in the Children’s section. We read all kinds of books and Chloe even found a whole shelf of Barbie books! We read all of them! We also got to read the latest Mo Willem’s Elephant and Piggie books– if you have a kid you need these books. They are hilarious and Chloe loves them so much. {BTW, Mo Willems is one of my favorite children’s authors. Ever. I used to read the Elephant and Piggie books to my third graders. They loved them, too.}

Then it was off to the mall. First, we stopped at the MAC counter so Chloe could try on some pink lip gloss!

Then we went to the Disney store. Chloe was telling everyone that it was her birthday. Well, I had no idea that if you tell the Disney people it is your birthday, they have a big celebration and put your name on the big movie screen! Good thing she told them!

Then we shopped at Crew Cuts for a birthday outfit. I wanted to buy her everything in that store. Oh my word. Cuteness. After she picked out some pink shorts and a white ruffle shirt, we headed to pick up dad for lunch. It was Chloe’s choice, of course, and she picked Uncle Julio’s. It ranked higher than Chuy’s only because we had just been to Chuy’s and Uncle Julio’s gives you tortilla dough to play with.

After lunch with T, we came home and watched a Barbie movie until it was time to get Jack. Then Chloe’s sitter from back when I was working came over with her daughter for a little while- Chloe has missed them so much! It was so fun to see them and Chloe was very sad when they had to leave.

Trey came home early and we played outside {loving this Dallas weather}. Then we had hot dogs and “blue” Doritos for dinner {chosen by the birthday girl, of course} and leftover birthday cake for dessert. Yum.

I’m so glad I got to spend the day with Chloe making memories! Four is definitely off to a great start!
