Merry Christmas to us (I know it’s early)!

November 2, 2010

When we realized the Rangers were going to the World Series, we knew we just had to be there! As much as we love sports, and as much as we love the Rangers, we decided this was one of those things that we would regret if we didn’t go! So, we forked over an unmentionable amount of $$ for 2 nosebleed seats at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington to see them play in Game 5 of the World Series. We rationalized spending that much cash by saying it was our Christmas present to each other. So, instead of possibly getting the Nikon camera I’ve been drooling over or this Pottery Barn rug that was made for our bedroom, we opted to spend a date night out at the Ballpark. And you know what? It was a great decision.

The weather could not have been better. The friendly Ranger fans, the beautiful sunset, the fly over, the roar of the crowd- the excitement was contagious! It probably ranks second in my list of  favorite-all-time sporting events I’ve attended. Number one? Nebraska at A&M my freshman year. The first Maroon Out. We beat the number 2 team in the country by a touchdown. That was back in the day of  Tooooooombs and Big 12 Championships. Oh, that was a great game.

But this was also a great game. The outcome was not what we wanted; it would have been a perfect night if our team had won instead of the Giants. But, it was the perfect Christmas present to each other. Now it’s time to finish my shopping for everyone else!

The D90 is an amazing camera. But those pictures of the game look even more amazing. Looks like you had a good time together.

I love comments!
